The Home Depot

Not exactly about Louise although I'll mention a couple recent interactions.

I like to make short stories long, please forgive me.

Since we moved into out "Move In Condition" house 3 and 1/2 years ago, I'm still moving in. I've been making 1-3 trips a week out to our local Home Depot (I've posted some other events in previous Postings)

Last week I was considering screen doors for our patio, it shouldn't have been a problem other than they are Anderson Series 400 French Doors (8 Ft x 3 Ft) so even though they offer 3 different styles of screen designs, Sliders, Swing opening or Roll-up (like a horizontal shade But in a vertical position) they do not off that last option for the 8 Ft door.

To the point though, I know one of the "window" guys, he and his brother were customers of mine, I got there late and he was leaving but told his workmate what I needed. I usually don't recognize people out of context and I didn't  recognize him although he said I'm sure you can't wait to go out to local place he and I go to, I asked if he had seen me there and he said of course, I see you almost every week, he was very polite and even though I didn't buy to 600.00 pair of screens from him (they're 390.00 at Home Depot) he was very polite to me.

Yesterday I went out again for a couple maintenance items and was walking by Sprinkler section, there was a "Black" couple (please I don't know what Blacks prefer to be called, just like they're 10 different terms for the Cross-dressing community "god forbid" if you call them the wrong Trans type.). I saw him looking at fittings and asked if I could help (I just repaired mine some I'm a "handyman" expert). I mentioned a Sprinkler supply down the road that had a better selection and he said he knew where it was. I asked if he was from the area because this place just relocated and it's in an Industrial Park area where typical consumers wouldn't be familiar with.

He said yes and he said he grew up and went to the same schools I did, he also mentioned he was a retired electrocution because he saw I had a Large 300 Watt LED bulb, he said he did a lot of Gas Station conversions from Mercury Vapor to LEDs. So we got into a little conversation due to me owning 4 locations at one time. He mentioned to me his Father had owned an Exclusively "Black" bar that I went to Many years ago and that I had met a "Black" boxer who was a really nice person who asked me to come there one night, he said "that was my father". What are the odds of meeting the son of a person I met at least 60 (sixty years earlier at Home Depot). I told him I walked into the bar and excused myself if I might make a "Racist" comment, but all I saw was Eye's and Teeth" with that he and his wife lost it, they were holding on to each other to keep from falling on the floor in laughter, tears were running down their cheeks.

I did have to share with them my "Louise" drivers license and he said, well I'm retired but if you need any electrical work, I do it for friends only and I want you as my friend.

I just had to post this and when ever I go by that place (closed now) I tell my wife that story, I must mention it to her 3-4 times a year because it was so memorable.
